Interesting facts about me

Hello! I am Ryan, a 32 year old originally from the frozen north of Wisconsin. I am an avid outdoorsman, I love to fly fish, hike, climb and camp. I spend a lot of my time reading, tying flies (atlantic salmon) and working, although if I could choose I would be fishing every day.

    Mr. Akroyd:
Thanks for the help re: florican.
    Here's my situation:
I have 2 pairs of feathers, both about 8" long. One pair has barbs between 2.5"-3" & has the barred pattern on both sides of the quill. The other pair has barbs about 2.5", but one side only(other side of quill has speckled pattern).
I want to post them(along with some other materials), for sale, & just want a realistic asking price.
    best fishes,
    Bob Blumreich

    Bob-

Ok, it sounds like you have some nice feathers. The ones that are barred on both sides are worth substantially more, for 2.5-3" barbs, I would estimate you are looking at $75-90 for the pair. The smaller feathers that are 2.5" but only patterned on one side of the quill are probably worth $55-65. These are just estimates, and pricing often varies with the condition of the feathers as well.

I browsed around on Ken Sawada's site and converted the currencies to dollars to get a feel if my estimates were right, and without having seen your feathers in person, I think these numbers are reasonably accurate. When you do decide to sell/trade them, I would recommend you post some photos, guys like to see what they are getting when buying this specific stuff.

    Hope this helps.
